Tsvetan Simeonov Participated in the 40th Meeting of the BSEC Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs

The BCCI supports the initiative since its creation three decades ago till now




In his capacity of a Chairman of Business Council at the Black Sea Economic Council /BSEC/ in the period January- June 2019, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the BCCI, participated in the 40th meeting of the of the BSEC Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, which was held in Sofia.
 
Mrs. Ekaterina Zaharieva, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria, open the event and declared that the Bulgarian Presidency has been practical and oriented to results, visible for the citizens of the EU member states.
 
Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov underlined that the BCCI has been supporting the initiative since its creation three decades ago. He provided information about the last meeting of the representatives of the Business Council, held in Sofia at the beginning of July, during which as a parallel event with the joint participation of the BSEC countries was the traditional Balkan Wine Festival in the capital of Bulgaria. “The active participation of the BSEC countries in the Business Council activities is of key importance” shared Mr. Simeonov.
 
The Black Sea Bank also presented its activities and expressed its willingness to support more business oriented projects. Closer cooperation  with the BCCI and presentation of company financial support opportunities before the Chamber members has been also agreed
 
The event gathered at one place representatives of the 12 BSEC member states – Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, also Egypt and Tunisia – observer countries in BSEC, and of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Union of the Mediterranean countries, etc.
 
The General Secretary of the BSEC, Mr. Michael Hristidis, gave high assessment of the Bulgarian Presidency.
 
During the session, on the initiative of the Bulgarian Presidency, unanimous decision was made for the 13th member of the organization to be invited the Republic of North Macedonia.
