Memorandum for cooperation with the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Dalian

The Memorandum extended the agreement, signed between the two organizations in 2012






The business delegation, accompanying the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen at the time of his official visit to China, took active participation during the Bulgarian-Chinese Business Forum in Dalian, China. Participants in the forum were more than 130 representatives of the business in the two countries. The President of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Dalian, Mr. Kui Tie opened the forum, which was a parallel event of the summer edition of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Mr. Tie outlined “Bulgaria and China have very close relations”. Bulgaria participates in the format “17+1” and upholds the initiative “One Belt  One Way”. There are already Chinese investments in Bulgaria in the fields: agriculture, outsourcing and cement production. “Last year 4 Bulgarian investment companies have visited Dalian and the collaboration in this area is in progress” shared the President of the Chinese Council.

The President of the BCCI, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, also addressed the participants in the event. He reminded that 2018 was a very successful year for the Bulgarian-Chinese relations - organization of 37 joint events in Bulgaria and also the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister Li Kuzyan in Bulgaria. Mr. Simeonov outlined that the BCCI became a part of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce. Besides, the annual award of the BCCI for ambassadors has been bestowed to the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Sofia.

The BCCI committed itself to answer all the questions of the Chinese companies because its rich experience and  the great number of companies the Chamber represents – more than 50 000 companies. Besides the bilateral meetings, more than 20 companies requested via the BCCI contacts with Bulgarian companies.

During the event a presentation of Dalian was run. The city is an important port, connecting China with Japan and Russia, maintaining partnership with 300 ports of 160 countries of all over the world. On the part of the Chinese companies questions were posed, concerning the procedure in Bulgaria for getting visas, search for partners, participation in fairs and exhibitions, concrete steps for investing in Bulgaria.

The BCCI and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Dalian signed a Memorandum for Cooperation, which extended the agreement, signed between the two organizations in 2012, aimed at enhancement the bilateral business.

The forum continued with business-to-business meetings.
