Important business events and visits in Bulgaria and Japan in 2019

A seminar and a visit of Japanese delegation in Bulgaria are included in the agenda of bilateral relations




The newly appointed Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in Sofia, Mr. Yasuki Ebata, visited the BCCI and had a meeting with the President of the Chamber, Mr.Tsvetan Simeonov, and with the Vice-President – Mr. Georgi Stoev. Mr. Hitoshi Hatta, the First Secretary on economic matters with the Embassy also participated in the meeting.

The Counsellor presented his programme and outlined his intentions during his forthcoming mandate in Bulgaria. In 2019 it is planned to be organized several bilateral Bulgarian-Japanese events in connection with three significant anniversaries: 110 years since the first official contacts between Bulgaria and Japan, 80 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and 60 years since their renewal. The organization of different business events and visits in the two states at governmental level is also forthcoming.

Mr. Yasuki Ebata shared information about the organization of a seminar at the beginning of 2019, focused on prevention of crisis situations and the role of the business. The choice of the theme is on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and on the programme for collaboration with the West Balkan countries. The BCCI will provide additional information about the exact period and place of organization of the event.

Upcoming is a visit of Japanese delegation of SMEs in the spring of 2019 and organization of bilateral business forum in Sofia. The purpose is the Japanese entrepreneurs to get acquainted with the conditions for doing business in Bulgaria and with the opportunities for Bulgaria to become a hub for the Japanese companies to enter the West Balkan markets.
