A Deputy from the State Duma of the Russian Federation visited BCCI

The management of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bulgarian – Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with Aleksei Gennadievich Kobilev, Deputy from the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Professor and Doctor of Economic Sciences. The economic environment in Bulgaria and the development of relations between business organizations from Bulgaria and Russia were presented.

During the meeting, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov pointed out that the cooperation with the Bulgarian – Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and its representation in Sofia has been developing positively over the past few years. He reminded that a bilateral forum with focus on the pharmaceutical industry was held recently in Sofia, as well as a series of joint initiatives aiming to promote the bilateral economic cooperation, including investment, projects financing, trade, services, information and training events, etc.

Georgi Minchev, President of the Bulgarian – Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented other perspective areas for bilateral business cooperation, including IT, adaptation of industrial products for end-users, etc. He informed Deputy Kobilev that cooperation with the Russian regions, both with the local authorities and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, is very active.

At the end of October, an Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Russian Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation is planned to be held in Moscow, whose meetings usually discuss the entire spectrum of economic ties. The Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries are expected to take an active part in the event, as well as to be involved as generators of new ideas on the agenda of the Joint Commission.
