The newly appointed Ambassador of Finland visited BCCI





The newly appointed Ambassador Agréé of Finland to Bulgaria H.E. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussed with the Chamber’s President Tsvetan Simeonov the economic situation in the country, how companies and institutions are coping with the challenges of the pandemic and what the national priorities of Finland are in relation to the cooperation with Bulgaria.

She explained the Finnish Government's intentions to meet the European goals of climate neutrality by 2030. The country has experience and achievements in the following areas: digitalization, paper industry, education, automation, energy efficiency, circular economy.

Tsvetan Simeonov and his guest agreed that trade between the two countries has been growing in recent years. In 2019, trade turnover amounted to EUR 132 million, with the balance in favor of Finland. In the first half of 2020, the trade turnover was EUR 75.39 million.

Simeonov presented the activities of BCCI and explained the model of cooperation with partners, government and related organizations in the country and abroad. He informed Ambassador Xanthopoulos about the projects that the BCCI is implementing in the year in which it celebrates its 125th anniversary.

Simeonov wished Ambassador Xanthopoulos success during her term of office in Bulgaria and confirmed the BCCI’s readiness to support her mission to promote bilateral economic ties as well as cooperation in other areas.
