The Minister of Energy of Moldova visited BCCI

Victor Parlikov, Minister of Energy of Moldova, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry last week during his visit to our country and in connection with his participation in the Green Transition Forum 4.0.

The BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov and Minister Parlikov discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, including cooperation in the fields of energy, decarbonisation of thermal energy and the green transition, including also interaction in the areas of agriculture and the food and drink industry in view of the traditions of both countries in the production of wine and beverages, as well as investments and bilateral trade. The main problem about expanding trade was found to be poor logistics.

Some partners participated in the meeting as well. Vladimir Tomov, Chairman of the Investment Council at BCCI, presented the opportunities to include Moldovan companies and entrepreneurs in the forthcoming event on 8-9 October – Sofia International Money Expo in the Bulgarian capital. Valeri Delibaltov, Chairman of the Management Board of Bessarabian Friends Association, clarified the progress in the relationships between the Bulgarian institutions and the Bulgarian community in Moldova. The meeting was also attended by Vasile Popovich, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Sofia.

During the discussion, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries and the partner investment agencies agreed to organise an informational event in the second half of the year with the purpose of informing businesses about bilateral investment opportunities. This will be a continuation of the Forum in Chisinau during the visit of a Bulgarian business delegation within the framework of the 9th meeting of the Bulgarian-Moldovan Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation in March 2024. Minister Parlikov confirmed that Moldova is working on a Road map to promote investments in their country and, in addition, to support the European future of Moldova.

Mr Simeonov encouraged Moldovan companies to turn to BCCI to receive references for Bulgarian business partners. The idea of establishing a joint Bulgarian-Moldovan Chamber of Commerce was discussed as well.
