The newly-appointed Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Sofia, Sanja Guberina, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She spoke with the President Tsvetan Simeonov and shared information about her mission and goals with the Chamber’s “International Cooperation and International Organizations” Directorate.
The commercial and economic relations between Croatia and Bulgaria will also be in the focus of Mrs. Guberina’s work. Practical steps to support their development after the pandemic and in a situation of global economic crisis were discussed during the meeting.
Tsvetan Simeonov presented the activities and services of the Chamber and emphasized the friendly relations with the Chamber of Commerce of Croatia within the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry EUROCHAMBRES.
According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, bilateral trade between Bulgaria and Croatia grew in 2020 and 2021 by an average of 50% per year. In 2021, it amounted to EUR 514 million. Last year’s exports also grew by 97% to EUR 325 million.
The total Croatian investments in Bulgaria amount to EUR 38.8 million as of 31.12.2021. In 2021, EUR 6.7 million of Croatian investments entered Bulgaria (according to data of the Bulgarian National Bank).
Bulgarian investments in Croatia are in the field of trade - sale of electronics and household appliances; cable TV network; metalworking; cosmetic industry; food industry, etc.
