BCCI recognized as a nationally representative employers’ organization for a new 4-year term

The Bulgarian government recognized five employers’ organizations as nationally representative for a period of four years. These are the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA), the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA), the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB) and the Union for Private Economic Enterprise (SSI).

As a participant in the representativeness procedure, BCCI submitted documents required by the Labor Code and the Ordinance for determining the procedure for establishing the existence of the criteria for representativeness, which indisputably prove its position as an esteemed employers’ organization with:

• 45,962 members of the BCCI, with confirmation from the National Social Security Institute for 688,197 employees in the members of the Chamber with concluded, registered and valid employment contracts;
• 84 branch organizations in more than a quarter of the activities defined by code up to the second sign of the Bulgarian Classification of Economic Activities 2008;
• 244 local bodies in 217 municipalities in the country.

The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria (KNSB) and the Confederation of Labor "Podkrepa" were recognized as nationally representative trade unions for a period of 4 years.
