Strong Participation of Polish Companies in the International Fair Plovdiv
The potential for economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Poland is not fully realized, the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in his opening speech to the Bulgarian-Polish Business Forum on 26 September 2011, after the opening of the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv.
Over 30 companies from Poland participate in this year’s autumn edition of the Fair. A lot of them met potential Bulgarian partners during the Business Forum organized by BCCI and the Trade and Investment Promotion Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bulgaria.
H.E. Leszek Hensel, Ambassador of Poland to Bulgaria greeted the participants in Bulgarian and Polish. He noted that the proximity of the two countries and the joint efforts to improve the economic relations despite the global economic crises resulted in a steady growth of bilateral trade in the last 3 years. In 2010 trade volume increased by 26% as compared to 2009. The number of Polish tourists visiting Bulgaria has also grown. Ambassador Hensel expressed Embassy’s support of the business and wished the participants mutually beneficial, highly profitable contracts and long-term relations.
The Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, Ms. Grażyna Chorążykiewicz reviewed the bilateral economic relations and noted that non-precious metals and articles, textile materials and textile products, foods, beverages and wines are the goods most exported from Bulgaria to Poland. The following Polish products are imported in Bulgaria: products of the electrical-machine industry, medicines, TV sets, chemical products, foods, etc.
