The Charge d'Affairs of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Sofia visited BCCI





Paul Sengky, Charge d'Affairs of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Sofia visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and talked with Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov – President. The diplomat was briefed on the work of the Chamber, its structure and activities for the direct benefit of local and foreign companies.

The embassy has recently been opened and has several specific objectives - promoting economic relations between Bulgaria and Cambodia, improving the bilateral legal framework - documents, agreements and memoranda, as well as closer cooperation in other public areas of bilateral interest.

Mr.Simeonov noted that there is a wide field of operation  for developing relations with the Asian country, which has maintained high annual economic growth for 20 years - 7%. Cambodia's trading conditions are favorable for Bulgarian companies based on EU trade preferences.

The BCCI President suggested pragmatically that the Bulgarian consumers' tastes of Cambodia products should be tested during a Trade Show of the Asian country in Sofia, to be prepared jointly by the BCCI and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Mr Sengky commented that the country has successfully developed the textile sector, agriculture, construction, etc.. He stressed that the country can invest both in local currency and in US dollars. The country will also host the Asia-Europe Summit in November 2020, which is held every two years.

Ideas for joint events, meetings and ways to promote business cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
