BCCI took part in a meeting – discussion on the future of EUROCHAMBRES

On 23^rd February, in Brussels, a meeting – discussion on the future of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES) was held. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI and member of the Board of Directors of EUROCHAMBRES and Georgi Stoev, Vice-President of BCCI and Chairman of the EUROCHAMBRES Trade and Investment Committee, took active part in the meeting.

During the event, which was attended by more than 50 representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Europe and the region, issues were discussed related to the implementation of activities and tasks arising from the vision of the organization, which is the largest network of entrepreneurs in Europe, representing Chambers of Commerce and Industry and businesses from all sizes and sectors. EUROCHAMBRES includes 1700 regional and local European Chambers from 43 countries, 20 million enterprises (93% SMEs), 120 million workers, and is a well-established partner for the European institutions when it comes to the conditions, markets and resources needed for economic and business growth.

In the focus of discussion were: establishing a public entrepreneurship dialogue at EU and national level in cooperation with institutional decision-makers and relevant stakeholders; identifying specific interests of the business and business organizations regarding non-EU regions, etc.

Christoph Leitl, in pursuit of his priorities as President of EUROCHAMBRES, and in particular for building “Europe Competitive”, urged the representatives of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry to be active in the dialogue with the institutions, to include business organizations from non-EU countries in partnerships and projects, and to be flexible and take initiatives in favour of the business.

The EUROCHAMBRES Programme for 2018 was also discussed, with two of the biggest events taking place in Sofia and hosted by BCCI between 11^th – 12^th June 2018, namely the European Parliament of Enterprises and a EUROCHAMBRES Board Meeting.
