In Skopje the general assembly of the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC) was held under the theme “2015 – Year of Competitiveness in the Region”.
The event was hosted by the President of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia Mr. Branko Azeski. Presidents and representatives of the chambers of commerce of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Montenegro took part in the assembly.
The President of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia presented competitiveness as a precondition for improves success on global markets by providing micro-competitiveness at an enterprise level and favorable business climate that encourages introduction of new products, processes and investments.
The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Mr. Rifat Hisarciklioglu also spoke before the delegates discussing B20 as an option for long-term increase of the Region’s competitiveness through cooperation among the business community, the government and all stakeholders in society.
In his speech before the ABC General Assembly, the President of BCCI Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov emphasized the role of chambers of commerce and industry and their efforts for improving competitiveness by providing services in favour of businesses. He presented the new services of BCCI in benefit of trade and industry – mobile applications, simple access to the new data base with legislation changes, the electronic Internet-based platform of the Arbitration Court, as well as future initiatives of the Chamber.
A celebration marking the 93rd anniversary of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia was also held.
