The Pilgrimage Routes in Bulgaria were presented. Sofia Sveta Gora is one of the major destinations attracting a great number of tourists for biking and hiking. The Orthodox route links two of the places of the world cultural heritage – Boyana Church and Rilla Monastery, with a dozen monasteries and chapels around the capital.
The promoted Bulgarian travel religious products met with the huge interest by the tour agencies, individual visitors, hotel associations etc.
One of the newly created religious products is the cultural route “The Way to Jerusalem” , which will be officially recognized by the Council of Europe and will reflect the mutual efforts of the partners in relation to the development of the religious and cultural values in Southeastern Europe. Within the activities implemented so far, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the other Bulgarian partner to the project – the Burgas Regional Tourist Association (BRTA), successfully work to raise the awareness and the interest of the foreign and local tourist flows towards the Bulgarian cultural and religious heritage as well as to promoting it in the European and the global market.
