BCCI supports the candidature of Liege for Expo 2017









 
On the occasion of the candidature of Liege, Belgium to host Expo 2017, on 23 February 2012 the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was visited by the Ambassador of Belgium to our country, H.E. Marc Michielsen, the Honorary Director General of the State Francophone Agency and Ms. Fabienne Reuter, Representative of the French community in Belgium and the Region of Wallonia. 

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov assured the guests that the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports the candidature of Liege and considers it the most appropriate and attractive candidate city http://www.liege-expo2017.com/ .

BCCI has already informed the Federation of Belgian Chambers of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Liege-Verviers of its support.


According to Ambassador Michielsen the participation of Bulgaria and Bulgarian companies in the upcoming world expo is of great importance, due to the fact that our country will assume the EU Presidency in 2018.


At the end of the meeting, Mr. Simeonov said that he will rely on Belgium’s support for Sofia to be elected European Cultural Capital in 2019.
