BCCI: China is a longstanding and reliable business partner with potential for cooperation
At the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a Bulgarian – Chinese Business Forum was held with the participation of Chinese companies from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. For the first time a business delegation from the region visits BCCI, which explains the huge interest to the forum.
The President of BCCI pointed out that China is a longstanding and reliable business partner of Bulgaria, with potential for cooperation in various areas – from supporting activities in logistics and trade to the energy sector, including renewable energy, where Beijing is already one of the leading world operators.
The Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of China Lu Yongming offered assistance, expertise and services for promotion of Bulgarian – Chinese trade relations. He emphasized that Chinese companies value our country’s economic stability, low taxes and strategic location.
During the forum a presentation of the economic and investment climate in Bulgaria was made by Dimitar Nikolov, Marketing Director of Invest Bulgaria Agency. He stressed Bulgaria’s advantages, for example its convenient location as gateway for the export of Chinese goods to the EU.
Zhang Shude, Chief Engineer of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Economic and Information Technology Commission, introduced the participants in the forum to the vast natural resources of the region, its economic potential and perspectives for development. However, he pointed out that the greatest advantage was the diligence of its people. The most important economic sectors in the region are energy production, metallurgy, high technologies, chemical industry and others.
Some of the objectives for the visit of the business delegation led by Zhang Shude include: selecting a Bulgarian town, where the Federation of Commerce and Industry might open a representative office; choosing a town for the construction of an urban complex (an investment for over 10 billion Yuan); conducting a research of the real estate market; openning a Chinese restaurant with area of over 1000 sq.m.; cooperation in the field of agriculture (rice and silk-worms); negotiations for the construction of solar parks; joint projects in the field of wine production, fodder, dairy products, etc.
The visit of the Chinese business delegation coincided with an important international event in Sofia – Southeast Europe Economic Forum. With the assistance of BCCI, the visiting Chinese companies held business meetings with participants in the forum.
