Meeting with Representatives of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber

At a work meeting, held on 16 November 2011, with Gunther Sucher, Regional Director Southeastern Europe at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Michael Angerer, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Austria in Bulgaria, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The occasion for the visit was the forum “Transport Equipment and Transport Infrastructure” held earlier that day, during which 30 Austrian companies presented their know-how and products, which can be applied in numerous transport projects in Bulgaria. Accent was put on the following areas: road infrastructure and railroad infrastructure. More than 80 Bulgarian entrepreneurs took part in the forum.

During the meeting joint events regarding the Danube Strategy were planned. At the moment, Austria is very actively informing the companies and regions of the opportunities provided in the Strategy. Other areas of mutual interest for which events in 2012 will be organized include tourism, nature preservation, energy production, green energy, commercial arbitration, corporate social responsibility, cooperation as part of GS1, etc.

The guests informed that next year the Commercial and Economic Section at the Embassy of Austria in Bulgaria marks its 60th anniversary, which is an occasion for more economic events to be held.
