„Made in Bulgaria” – Marketing Tool for Companies Involved
The national trade exhibition “Made in Bulgaria” takes place from 3rd to 11th December in Sofia, Universiada Hall.
“This is the best opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises to present their products to customers who look for high-quality goods”, said Margarita Damyanova from the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This is a sector which cannot afford to commit to high rents for many months, but needs to hear the opinion of consumers.
The slogan is “SELECT THE BULGARIAN”, said Hristo Drumev, Chairman of Union “Made in Bulgaria”. He advised local consumers not to leave the country for the Christmas and New Year holidays, but to spend their money in Bulgaria.
150 companies will take part in the exhibition. The entrance is free and the visiting hours are between 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
A new breed of people is being selected – the Bulgarian manufacturer has survived and is now up-to-date thanks to the technological wave between 2003 and 2008. Fewer people buy Bulgarian products out of pure patriotism, Andrey Raychev, Deputy Chairman of Union “Made in Bulgaria” commented. “People should know that when they buy a product made in Bulgaria, one-quarter of the money returns to them”, he said. Andrey Raychev also commented on the current economic situation pointing out that Bulgarians bore the brunt over the years, while others preferred to engage themselves with sirtaki and bunga bunga.
“Can you believe that in Bulgaria there still are patriots and we don’t get paid for our work”, Hristo Drumev stated.
More than 2000 Bulgarian companies have exhibited their products at the “Made in Bulgaria” exhibition over the past 17 year, since its beginning. Most of them are representatives of the textile industry, which is among the biggest employers in the country. Over 113 260 people are employed in the tailoring sector in our country. The sector is the second biggest employer in Bulgaria, after the public administration and workers employed in it are 19.30% of all employed persons in industry.
