The General Assembly of GS1 Bulgaria Council with BCCI Elected Management for the Next Two Years
On 10 November 2011 a regular general meeting of the members of the GS1 Bulgaria Council with BCCI was held. Representatives of companies from various economic sectors, such as production of food products, pharmaceutical products, consumer goods and construction, attended the event.
The General Assembly voted for Bureau of the Council, which at its first meeting re-elected Tsvetan Simeonov as Chairman of GS1 Bulgaria Council.
The programme for the activities and the budget for the next two years were adopted.
Accents in the programme include:
•Increasing the knowledge of the GS1 system’s users about its scope and fields of application;
•Organizing seminars on the application of the standard logistics etiquette GS1 as well as on main elements of the tracking and electronic data interchange (EDI) systems;
•Conducting regular meetings of the EDI User Group and adopting conventions on the application of EANCOM/XML on national level – with special attention to electronic invoicing;
•Promoting GS1 DataBar symbols for marking of products with varying weights and fresh products;
•Applying GS1 standards in healthcare.
In order to promote and expand the application of the GS1 standards and to successfully carry out its activity, GS1 Bulgaria Council will seek cooperation with sectorial organizations, companies developing IT systems for management of material flows and logistics, and universities.
