The Role of the Employers in the Social Dialogue within the Context of the Upcoming Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU



Mr. Jacek Krawczyk, the President of the Employer Group in the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), visited BCCI and had a meeting with  Mr. Georgi Stoev, Vice-President of the Chamber. In the meeting participated also Mr. Enju Savov and Mr.Vasil Gruev, chief experts in the Committee on European Affairs and Oversight of the European Funds at the National Assembly.

Mr. Krawczyk is in Bulgaria for the discussion of various joint initiatives at the time of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018. He presented the activities and the priorities of the EESC, which include enhancement of the civil society dialogue, support of the macro-economy and the social policies. Further development of the internal European market, and also the elaboration of an integrated SME policy.

Mr. Georgi Stoev acquainted the participants with the role of the employers in the tripartite dialogue within the context of the forthcoming Bulgarian Presidency and of the debate for the future of the EU. 

There were also debated the future activities in the draft programme of the Bulgarian Presidency.

On Bulgarian side, the representatives of the Parliamentary Committee provided information of the activity of the Consultative Council at the National Assembly, of the three priority axes for multilateral cooperation – Consensus, Competitiveness and Cohesion, and also of the potential opportunities for partnership between the two institutions in the context of the parliamentary dimension.

During the meeting the topics that have been also discussed concern the situation in Bulgaria, the development of the region, and the main challenges before the economies of the East and Central European countries.
