Investment and business opportunities in Kenya will be presented at BCCI
Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with H.E. Kennedy Osinde, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kenya to Bulgaria and Mr. Ivaylo Dermendziev, Honorary Consul of Kenya to Bulgaria. Ideas for cooperation were discussed aimed at finding place for Bulgarian goods on the Kenyan market as well as expanding the range of products traded between the two countries.
Bulgaria exports to the South African country mainly calculators, clothes, gas-, liquid- and electricity-meters, iron articles, household appliances, blood components, printing machines, construction machines, spare parts, etc. Our country imports the following Kenyan goods: tobacco, coffee, flowers, fruits, wood, etc.
BCCI’s President presented the business conditions in our country and invited Kenyan companies by entering Bulgarian market to use the opportunities offered by the neighbouring Southeastern European markets. Mr. Simeonov suggested an information event to be held at BCCI in the second half of 2011, to present the business and investment conditions in Kenya. A visit of Bulgarian companies to Kenya is planned as a second step.
H.E. Kennedy Osinde presented Kenya’s plan for economic development for the period 2020 – 2030. The country will rely on several key economic sectors such as electrical engineering, infrastructure, tourism, etc. Projects in these areas are being prepared and will be developed on the basis of public private partnership.
