The chambers of commerce and industry of Bulgaria and Romania are an engine for the development of the bilateral economic relations



The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism of Romania Florin Vodiță met with the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and the Secretary General of the Chamber Vasil Todorov. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Bulgaria H.E. Anton Pacuretu and Mr. Radu Moldovan, Economic Affairs Counsellor at the Embassy also took part in the meeting.
 
The development of the activities of chambers of commerce and industry and opportunities for collaboration were discussed.
 
Tsvetan Simeonov made a comparative overview of the activities and functions of the chambers of commerce of Bulgaria and Romania, emphasizing the services and the peculiarities of the membership in BCCI. Future cooperation in the field of arbitration was discussed.
 
Membership in international organizations, such as EUROCHAMBRES, the Association of Balkan Chambers and the Business Council of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), where BCCI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania cooperate on multilateral basis, was also discussed.
 
Florin Vodiță pointed out that the chambers of commerce and industry of Bulgaria and Romania play a crucial role in supporting SMEs and intensifying the bilateral trade and economic relations.
 
The management of BCCI confirmed its readiness for closer cooperate with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism of Romania and the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote business in the two neighbouring countries.
