First Economic Forum for Development of Upper Egypt
Bulgarian business delegation organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Egypt and took part in the First Economic Forum for Development of Upper Egypt. The event was held on 22nd February in Cairo with the participation of 20 Bulgarian entrepreneurs and about 50 businessmen from Upper Egypt. While opening the forum, the Executive Director of the Egyptian Businessmen Association Mohammed Yusuf stressed that Egypt is looking for investors and is hoping for Bulgarian companies to invest in the country or to work as subcontractors for various projects, including infrastructure projects – construction of 4 thousand km highways, for which the Egyptian Government has allocated EGP 22 billion. Additional information will be provided during the upcoming Investors Conference in Egypt in March.
The President of Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and member of the Management Board of BCCI Yancho Yanev presented the Bulgarian business delegation and encouraged Egyptian participants in the forum to do business with Bulgarian partners and in Bulgaria. He presented the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce with a draft Memorandum of Understanding between BCCI and FECC to replace the first Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1998.
The Executive Director of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce presented the leader of the Bulgarian business delegation Yancho Yanev with an honorary plaque.
The forum continued with bilateral business meetings. The business delegation visited Egyptian technology centers and companies.
