The awarded winners in the rankings for the most successful economic and commercial service offices – ECSO 2013
During an official ceremony at the BCCI honors were recognized to the most active economic and commercial service offices (ECSO) for 2013.
The Grand Prize – a Hermes bronze statuette with a Diploma went to the Bulgarian Economic and Commercial Service Office in the Federal Republic of Germany. ECSO-Germany took first place in the rankings with its undoubted results for 2013. It was awarded for increasing Bulgarian export, positive increase of investments and attracted foreign tourists to Bulgaria, for its active work with the Bulgarian business and cooperation in achieving the goals and objectives of the BCCI. The award was handed by Assoc. Prof. Daniela Bobeva – Outgoing Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Second place winner awarded with Honorary Diploma was ECSO-Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Third place winner awarded with Honorary Diploma was ECSO-Ukraine.
Three more ECSO services were awarded, after been nominated into this year’s rankings – ECSO-Belarus, ECSO-Greece, and ECSO-Lebanon.
BCCI jointly with the Ministry of Economy and Energy approved the nominating and awarding criteria for the ECSO services that are equal to all of them, namely:
1. Exports, investments and tourists, including:
• Share of Bulgarian exports to the respective country into the total exports of ECSO countries in 2013
• Increase in exports in 2013 compared to 2012
• Increase in investments in 2013 compared to 2012
• Increase the number of tourists in 2013 compared to 2012.
2. Active work with BCCI and Bulgarian business (provision and dissemination of business information, assistance with business visits to the respective country, organizing business forums and events, assistance in gathering participants to exhibitions in Bulgaria)
3. Decisive for the rankings is MEE’s overall assessment on ECSO activities
Based on these criteria 6 of the commercial service offices were nominated and excelled –Belarus, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Lebanon and Ukraine.
The ceremony was attended by the Outgoing Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy Krassin Dimitrov, Outgoing Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Angel Velichkov, and the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency – Svetoslav Mladenov.
