BCCI hosted a business delegation from East of England which visited Sofia to participate in the events for business development partnership – “Industry Match Making“ and “Go Green to Environment“, which took place on 6-7th March 2014 in Inter Expo Centre.
The session was inaugurated by the President of the BCCI, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, who presented the opportunities for business development in Bulgaria. Analyzing the economic situation in our country, he pointed out as positive the financial stability amid the crisis in Europe, the low taxes and the relatively low labor costs in Bulgaria. In negative aspect were outlined the heavy state apparatus and the administrative barriers which businesses encounter.
Guest speakers were Mr. Tim Buysere, Head of the Trade and Investment Department with the British Embassy; Mr. Philip Welsh, Managing Director of Trinity Corporate Services for Bulgaria, and Mr. Georgi Stoimenov, Senior Manager at Deloitte Bulgaria.
Among the outlined factors favoring the business development in Bulgaria by foreign companies, is the accession of our country to the EU in 2007, the availability of skilled workforce, the investments made in infrastructure, the shortened period for starting a business. During the presentations good practices for successful business of British companies in Bulgaria were shown.
