Developing the cooperation between Bulgaria and Spain was put on discussion at the Chamber

Maya Stanilova, Honorary President of the Spanish-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, and Krastio Stanilov from the Union Confederation of the Bulgarian Industry, met with President Tsvetan Simeonov.

Possibilities of expanding the trade and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Spain were discussed at the meeting. In particular, the idea for organizing a Bulgarian business delegation to the Province of Catalonia at the end of February 2014 was reviewed.

Catalonia is the most developed economic region in Spain disposing of very good transport communications – over 1.200 km of motorways, numerous railways, three international airports and the largest port on the Mediterranean – Barcelona.

Economic sectors of strategic importance to Catalonia are:
- IТ and biotechnological sector;
- Manufacture of machinery and materials for aeronautics;
- Protection of the environment and all related manufactures thereof;
- Chemical and pharmaceutical sector.

BCCI advises the companies of the branches above stated to enter the list of the forthcoming business delegation.
