Bureaucracy, inconstant legislation, corruption and unfair competition are the main impediments to businesses for the year of 2013



Slow administrative services, inconstant legislation, corruption and unfair competition are the main impediments to businesses for the year of 2013. These are the results of a survey conducted by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the end of October this year regarding the conditions of doing business and investments in our country.
 
The share of the companies complaining against corruption has been increased – from 59% in 2012 to 68% in 2013, against unfair competition from the informal sector – 66%, at 54% in 2012.
 
Some positive changes have also occurred, the results of the survey show. According to 20% of the companies, this year the country is more regular in payments. 39% of the companies reported improvement of the public infrastructure.
 
The serious obstacles and difficulties before the business community were also reflected in their expectations for the year of 2014. According to representatives of the business in order to improve the business environment in 2014 a sustainable and predictable legislation is required, a sharp reduction of the red tape at all levels, as well as severe measures against the informal sector and illegal imports.
