Transparency of public procurement was discussed with representatives of the U. S. Department of Commerce
Representatives of the U. S. Department of Commerce* and the U. S. Embassy’s commercial representatives** visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with its President Tsvetan Simeonov.
The meeting was held on the grounds of the regional conference entitled “Transparency in the public procurement administration” which was organized by the U. S. Embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce.
BCCI’s President stated before the participants of the conference issues related to the application of the Law on public procurement, namely about late payments, direct contracting and high participation rates. Tsvetan Simeonov presented suggestions on behalf of the Chamber for extended transparency and improved public procurement administration: for a necessary engagement of the representatives of the branch organizations into the Assessment Committees; regulation of a fixed value rate of the public procurement as a guarantee for the execution of the contract; e-submitting and e-processing of the documents.
BCCI will support any suggestions for further clearing and transparency of the proceedings.
The representatives of the U. S. Department of Commerce submitted their reports during the regional conference conducted at the U. S. Embassy.
