Bulgaria offers excellent conditions as a platform for Georgian products to the European Union
The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tsvetan Simeonov participated in a meeting of Bulgarian companies with a governmental delegation from Georgia, which is in Sofia on occasion of the latest meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation. The meeting was opened by the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traycho Traykov and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Vera Kobalia.
Transport connections and proximity between our countries provide an easy access for Georgian products to the European market, said Minister Traykov before the participants. According to him, Bulgaria offers excellent conditions as a platform for Georgian products to the European Union and for business with the other member-states.
Minister Kobalia outlined energy, tourism, textile industry and agriculture as some of the most promising areas for cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting it became clear that Bulgarian companies can successfully participate in the implementation of important Georgian projects. Among them are the expansion of the ports in Batumi, Kulevi and Poti, construction of an oil and gas terminal complex in Supsa, setting up high-voltage electrical networks, as well as construction of tourist resorts and holiday villages.
