The Head of the Bulgarian Commercial and Economic Section in Canada – Desislava Dragneva visited BCCI and met with the Chamber’s President Tsvetan Simeonov. A number of ideas to promote the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Canada were discussed.
Desislava Dragneva informed that according to preliminary estimates the savings made by the European and Canadian companies for one year since the entry into force of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the EU and Canada (CETA) amount to 40%. With the abolition of almost all customs duties, CETA has boosted the EU – Canada trade relation and has offered valuable legal certainty to European export-oriented companies. According to data of the European Commission, during the past year the export of goods under many European export positions marked an impressive increase.
The possibility for Canadian students to visit our country in May-June next year, during the rose-picking season, was discussed. BCCI undertook, after obtaining more information, to develop this initiative by contacting the universities with which it has partnership.
