Vasil Todorov, Secretary General of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Nikola Zikatanov, Deputy President of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA), took part in a meeting in Budapest with Phil O’Reilly, Chairman of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
In 2017, the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE) took steps to accelerate the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the OECD.
Meanwhile, the BIAC Executive Board approved AOBE’s application for membership in BIAC as an observer, in force as of January 2018.
During the visit to Budapest, the activity of the AOBE was presented, and the strengths of Bulgaria’s candidacy for membership in OECD. The forms of participation of Bulgarian organizations in the work of the Committee were discussed, as well as the possible spheres of joint activity – tax and financial issues, international trade, digitization, vocational skills and education, healthcare, etc.
