H.E. Mr. Mykola Baltazhy, Ambassador of Ukraine in Bulgaria, and Anton Shcherbatiuk, First Secretary at the Embassy, discussed with the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov the development of the bilateral commercial and economic relations.
During the meeting, which has become traditional at the beginning of each year, Ambassador Baltazhy presented information about the economic situation in Ukraine. In 2016, Ukraine registered 2% economic growth, while the economic growth forecast for this year is 3%.
The possibility to exchange delegations was discussed. In 2017, business forums are envisaged to take place in Sofia and some of the cities on the Black Sea coast. During the meeting it became clear that the direct flights Sofia – Kyiv are not well utilized.
Ambassador Baltazhy and Tsvetan Simeonov agreed to unite their efforts towards activating the work of the Bulgarian-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry. The President of BCCI expressed readiness on behalf of the Chamber to assist Ukrainian investors which are interested in Bulgaria.
