Organisations of Employers from Europe and Central Asia discussed topical issues on economic environment, industrial relations and human resources



At the meeting of the organisations of employers from Europe and Central Asia, which took place on 11-12 September 2014 in Warsaw, Bulgarian employers were represented by the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov.  The debates paid particular attention to the need that the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) shall further focus on the most important issues of the economic environment, industrial relations and human resources, active work and involvement of associations – members of the IOE, for implementing the objectives of the Organisation.
Within his visit to Warsaw the BCCI’s President held several meetings with representatives of international organisations and partners. He met with the newly appointed regional director for Europe and Central Asia of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) – Mr. Heinz Kohler, and presented the recent evolution of industrial relations in Bulgaria.
 
The excellent cooperation between the BCCI and the Embassy of Poland in Sofia and the important role of the current Ambassador H.E. Leszek Hensel was topic of the conversation with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Katarzyna Kacperczyk. Bilateral trade and economic relations were discussed as well.
 
At a meeting with representatives of Confederation of Norwegian Employers – Henrik Munthe and Torill Ridervold, Tsvetan Simeonov mentioned the positive results of the joint project „TRUST“. The project is implemented with the financial support of the Fund for decent work and tripartite dialogue within the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014.
In the context of discussions during the meeting in Warsaw the BCCI will focus on increasing its commitment to the initiatives of the IOE to promote synergy among the members of the organization.
