BCCI took part in the first China – CEEC Business Council meeting







The first meeting of the China – CEEC Business Council was held. The meeting was hosted by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and took place during the 7th European Economic Congress in Katowice, Poland. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was represented at the meeting by its Secretary General Vasil Todorov. 
 
The forum was officially opened by Janusz Piechociński, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Poland and Wang Chao, Deputy Foreign Minister of China. During the meeting the economic cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries was emphasized together with the importance of the “16 + 1” formula for the development of the economic relations. Business associations from China and the Central and Eastern European Countries were given the opportunity to present their activities and the joint initiatives they are planning.
 
As a representative of Bulgaria, Vasil Todorov presented the activity of BCCI, its membership in international organizations and its participation in more than 300 public-private bodies ranging from municipal level to the Council of Ministers. In his speech he stressed the Chamber’s excellent cooperation with Chinese partners – BCCI has signed over 10 cooperation agreements with business associations from the Asian country. The Chamber maintains a Chinese version of its website in order to expand the cooperation with Chinese business partners and facilitate Chinese companies.
 
New joint initiatives between China and CEEC in the field of transport and logistics were presented. Future forums and exhibitions were also discussed.
