Bulgarian companies of the food industry can get access to the Chinese market through Hong Kong
Secretary General of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vassil Todorov, received a delegation from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
Stephen Long, Regional Director for Europe of the HKTDC, shared his views on the joint areas of activities, such as organizing trade fairs, realizing meetings between entrepreneurs from both the countries, promoting trade opportunities in different industries, etc.
Stephen Long specified the objectives of the organisation – to promote not only exports but mainly imports to Hong Kong. He also explained that there is a sizable lack of raw materials in the region.
Cooperation with Bulgarian companies can be realized in areas like wine-production, food industry, information technology, furniture, textile and other industries. Attention was paid to particular examples of how the HKTDC supports companies of the food industry, aiming at reaching the Chinese market by adapting the products to the local tastes and needs of the consumers.
Vassil Todorov focused on the opportunities of investment on the Bulgarian market, as the interest of Bulgaria, besides promoting the trade, is oriented also to attracting foreign investors to our country.
