Opportunities for establishing bilateral trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Libya
Representatives of the Management to the International Institute for Security and Cooperation, Mr. Rumen Petkov and Mr. Atanas Terzobaliev, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with its President, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov.
The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the successfully completed visit of the Institute’s Management in Libya at the invitation of the Ministry of Interior of the North-African country.
Rumen Petkov gave detailed information regarding the opportunities for establishing bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Libya. Urgent measures like introducing and providing the Bulgarian businesses with information about the opportunities for investments in the country, particularly in areas like civil building and infrastructure, healthcare, education and security.
Tsvetan Simeonov ascertained the stagnation in the relations with the Libyan country and defined as important and necessary a future meeting with representatives of the Libyan Embassy in Bulgaria with the purpose to introduce the Bulgarian businesses to the existing regulations and legal rules in the North-African country.
Based on the traditions in the relations with Libya and the current situation, BCCI determined the necessity of activating the bilateral relations not only at the state level but also through the support of the non-government organizations.
