Meeting between representatives of GS1 Bulgaria and GS1 Austria
Meeting between representatives of GS1 Bulgaria and GS1 Austria was held on 15-17 July 2013 in the town of Pomorie. The event was attended by Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov – President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of GS1 Bulgaria Office, Mr. Christo Sodev – CEO of GS1 Bulgaria, members of GS1 Bulgaria Office and experts.
The Austrian organization was represented by Mr. Gregor Herzog – Executive Director of GS1 Austria and Mr. Michael Walter – member of the Management Board of GS1 Austria.
It has been the second meeting within the framework of the mentoring programme. The first one took place in Austria in January 2012.
The main objectives of the two meetings have focused over the exchange of experience related to the activities on applying GS1 standards.
The main topics of the programme were:
•Progress in the implementation of GS1 DataBar for marking goods of variable weights and food products, for providing better quality control and traceability over the products.
•Implementing logistic labels under GS1 standards onto pallets delivered to the retail chains in order to provide faster reception of the goods, traceability over the amounts on hand and the products available.
•Applying the standards in the healthcare sector in order to provide better security for the patients.
•Mobile applications based on the standards for providing quality information to the end users as well as facilitating the shopping process.
•Examples of applying the standards in the public administration.
During the meeting Mr. Christo Sodev presented GS1 Bulgaria’s project which aims to update the database of the members of the organization and the development of new applications in favor and for the convenience of the users of GS1 standards in Bulgaria.
