BCCI participated in a public discussion of the Sofia Municipality budget for 2013







 

BCCI’s President Tsvetan Simeonov and the economic analysts of the Chamber participated in a public discussion of the Sofia Municipality budget for 2013.

During the presentation it became clear that the capital city's credit rating was raised to BBB / stable outlook (Standard & Poors, November 2012) and Sofia has a growing share in total employment in the country from 28.3% to 31.5%.

What is important for the business is that BGN 453 million worth of investments is set for 2013, of which BGN 150 million are state funding, BGN 280 million under operational programs and BGN 23 million are funds for investment purpose from the municipal privatization fund.

Priority areas in the budget are education, reform in transport, environment and investment in infrastructure.
