Meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce



 

The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) organized a workshop featuring representatives from the government, the diplomatic corps and business circles. The Prime Minister Boyko Borissov made a presentation on the topic: “Government Priorities and Policies in the New Planning Period and the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020 of EU". The BCCI’s President also attended the gathering.


The Prime Minister emphasized that Bulgaria had the lowest taxes - 10% income tax, 20% VAT and low charges. "We also have good ratings and assessments from the EU," the Prime Minister added. Bulgaria utilizes the EU funds in areas needed across Europe, Borissov said and added that the country pass through five European transport corridors.


In his speech Deliyan Dobrev, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, observed that the aim of the changes adopted in the Investments Promotion Act was to provide additional incentives for investments in the country.
