BCCI successfully completed project “EUROASIA – FASHION”

The main goal of project “EUROASIA – FASHION” is to promote commercial relations between European textile SMEs (from Bulgaria, Greece and the Netherlands in particular) and textile companies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

On 24 and 25 September 2012, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in the closing meeting of the project held in Porto, Portugal. The date and place of the meeting were especially selected to coincide with the 28th World Apparel Convention organized by the International Apparel Federation (IAF). Each of the partners had to organize a delegation of 3 members – representatives of the textile industry from the countries participants in the project, in order to make contacts with textile companies from the other participating countries, to hold business meetings and share their experience.

The Bulgarian delegation comprised representatives of the Bulgarian Association of Apparel and Textile Producers and Exporters, the Branch Organization for Textiles and Clothing and company Almarex Ltd.

During the forum various presentations dedicated to apparel and fashion were made and good practices for the development of the sector were shared. The Bulgarian participants had a chance to establish valuable contacts with the other participants in project “EUROASIA – FASHION” – textile associations and companies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as with textile organizations and companies from all over the world.

The Bulgarian delegation also attended the 40th fashion fair “Modissimo” in Oporto, during which the latest fashion trends and apparel and textile technologies were presented.
