The Chambers of Commerce of Bulgaria and Slovenia will strengthen their cooperation with new initiatives

“Cooperation between BCCI and the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is excellent. The good results were proven by bilateral trade data, which mirror successful joint initiatives”, H.E. Ms. Darja Bavdaz Kuret, Ambassador of Slovenia said during a meeting with the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov.
Ambassador Kuret was informed about the expectations of Bulgarian businesses about the economic situation in the following year – growth of export, decrease of investments, moderate growth of economy and employment. The opinions were polled as part of EUROCHAMBRES’ annual survey in which BCCI traditionally participates.
The level of utilization of European funds and perspectives for efficient partnership for their use were also discussed. The parties agreed that at the moment this is the only fresh financing available and it should be used by businesses to the full. Opportunities for cooperation and additional financing under the Danube Strategy were discussed. Slovenia is the country coordinator of transport in the Strategy.
During the meeting it was negotiated to continue the good practices of information exchange and organization of joint events in 2012. Positive results of the Business forum held in June 2011 in Slovenia, with the participation of the Presidents of the two countries, were noted – serious logistics of efforts to activate cooperation. The bilateral meetings of IT companies held in April 2011 in Sofia also enjoyed enormous success. These events should serve as an example for new initiatives and improvement of what has been achieved.
BCCI expressed its readiness to welcome a business delegation from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additional information about the visit will be provided to the business community in due time.
