BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov held a working meeting with Kong Lingyu, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of China in Sofia, and Wang Shensi, Attaché in the Economic and Commercial Affairs Department of the Embassy.
The issues under discussion included some highlights from the forthcoming adoption of the European currency in Bulgaria and the anticipated changes in Bulgaria's trade and economic relations with third countries, including China.
Mr Simeonov emphasised that the accession of our country to the Eurozone is one of BCCI’s main priorities, which are set out in the Organisation's Development Guidelines. He clarified the advantages gained by the Bulgarian economy, which has been functioning with a currency board for more than 25 years now. BCCI President also pointed out the higher credit rating of our country against the background of the forthcoming currency reform.
Mr Simeonov shared that China is the biggest partner of Bulgaria with regard to import and after introducing the Euro, it is expected that this tendency remains the same and any costs for currency conversion are avoided.
The impact of trade restrictions on the relationships between the USA and the EU was also a topic of conversation. Mr Simeonov drew attention to the fact that the two parties have reached an agreement and there is already greater clarity about the conditions under which companies can do business with the USA, although these conditions are significantly less favourable than before.
The interlocutors also discussed the options for Bulgarian goods to get wider distribution on the Chinese market.
