Presentation of the diverse tourism opportunities of Bulgaria to tour operators from Argentina

Bulgaria’s diverse tourism opportunities were highlighted during a virtual business forum “Presentation of tourism opportunities in Bulgaria to tour operators from Argentina”.

The event was organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Entrepreneurship and Startup Council at BCCI, the “Health – Ecology – Tourism” Association, the Embassy of Argentina in Sofia, and the Embassy of Bulgaria in Buenos Aires, in continuation of the first such forum held in January this year during which the tourism potential of Argentina was demonstrated to Bulgarian tour operators.

Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI, officially opened the business forum and said that such events aim to increase interest in Bulgaria, which despite being a small country offers many opportunities for tourism, and in the Balkan Peninsula, known for its rich history, and Europe as a whole. Simeonov also presented the Bulgarian traditions in wine making and invited participants to visit Sofia in the period 16-18 June 2022 when the 11^th edition of the Balkan Wine Festival will be held. He expressed the readiness of the Chamber to assist businesses from Bulgaria and Argentina, as well as business organizations in the tourism sector.

H.E. Mr. Alfredo Atanasoff, Ambassador of Argentina in Sofia, thanked BCCI for the opportunity to hold such events which expand the cooperation between Bulgaria and Argentina. According to him, Bulgaria can attract the interest of Argentine tourists with its nature and rich history.

H.E. Stoyan Mihaylov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Buenos Aires, added that there is untapped potential in the bilateral relations, including in the field of tourism. He emphasizes the variety of tourism opportunities in Bulgaria - winter and summer resorts, SPA tourism, etc. Ambassador Mihaylov also noted the need for direct contacts between tour operators from both countries. He advised the tourist companies from Bulgaria to present information about the offered products and packages in Spanish.

Svetlana Golemanova, Director “International Cooperation and Investment in the Field of Tourism” at the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria, presented statistics, geographic location, history and culture of the country, as well as the diverse tourism opportunities it offers.

Dimitar Baltov, Deputy President of the Association of Tour Operators and Travel Agents "Union Future for Tourism" gave an extensive presentation on the rich history, archeology, nature, culture, and monasteries in Bulgaria.

Attention was paid to the specialized forms of tourism - wellness, SPA and golf  tourism.

More than 40 tour operator companies from both countries took part in the event.
