Radu Moldovan, Minister-Counsellor at the Romanian Embassy in Sofia, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussed with President Tsvetan Simeonov the state of the bilateral economic relations between Romania and Bulgaria.
It was noted with satisfaction that despite the restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in recent years, business contacts between companies from the two neighboring countries have significantly intensified, as a result of which Romania has become Bulgaria’s third economic partner.
Initiatives and events for expanding bilateral trade and intensifying the investment process were discussed.

Recently, on 28 January, a meeting was held between the Bulgarian Minister of Transport and Communications Nikolay Sabev and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania Sorin Mihai Grindeanu. The main topics of the talks were the reopening of the Ruse-Giurgiu ferry, the construction of a second bridge over the Danube, and unification of the border crossings procedures at both countries, so that the stay of vehicles at the border checkpoints is significantly reduced.
