BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov Participated in the First Meeting with Presidential Candidates

At a meeting with the three nationally representative employers’ organizations – Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA), Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA) – the Candidate for President Ms. Meglena Kuneva promised the business representatives that their voice will be heard by politicians and there will be a timely reaction to their problems. In an announcement to the media at the end of the meeting, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI evaluated the meeting as a useful exchange of opinions.

The interlocutors ascertained a concurrence of opinions on issues such as collecting undue sums (sums which are not due, but are held as a credit for some time even though they cannot be kept in the budget, which practically is a form of crediting by the business), and the frequent and prolonged attendance of control bodies, especially in companies working in the light part of economy, as opposed to their absence in the grey and hidden sector.

Several of Ms. Kuneva and BCCI’s theses coincide, the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov added. For example, the view on reducing the size of Presidential administration and encouraging active cooperation between the state administration and competent NGOs, which may serve as consultants when taking key economic decisions affecting the business conditions in the country.

On 12 October, at 2:00 p.m., the representatives of the employers’ organizations will meet the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair Rosen Plevneliev and Margarita Popova, nominated by GERB, and on 18 October, Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m., in the Hall of BIA, the employers’ organizations will meet the candidates nominated by BSP – Ivaylo Kalfin and Stefan Danailov.
