Online meeting with representatives of the Board of the Turkey – Bulgaria Business Council



Tsvetan Simeonov, President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and Co-Chair of the Bulgaria – Turkey Business Council had an online meeting with his counterpart Mr. Zeki Sarıbekir, the newly-elected Chairman of the Turkey – Bulgaria Business Council with the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK). The online meeting was attended by representatives of the Board of the Turkey – Bulgaria Business Council and a team of BCCI.

The meeting was informative, emphasizing the state of the economies of both countries in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the joint efforts of the two councils for the development of the Bulgarian-Turkish economic relations. Tsvetan Simeonov stressed that Turkey is one of Bulgaria’s most serious trade partners and expressed BCCI’s readiness to support businesses from Bulgaria and Turkey. The President of BCCI stated that he is optimistic about the future and believes that the bilateral relations will continue to develop successfully. He focused on the innovative services that the Chamber offers for the benefit of the business community, such as the BG Barcode catalogue, 360-degree photography of companies, etc. A detailed presentation of the activities of the Chamber was made by the Director of BCCI’s International Department Mrs. Gabriela Dimitrova.

The Board members of the Turkey – Bulgaria Business Council, who took part in the meeting, presented their businesses in the sectors of food industry and agriculture, machine building, automotive spare parts, banking, consultancy, construction, etc.

Both sides agreed to prepare a joint document with concrete steps for the development of the bilateral relations after the COVID-19 crisis.
