A meeting of the Women Entrepreneurs Council with the Association of Balkan Chambers /ABC/ was held in Istanbul.
During the first meeting, presided by Ms. Radka Stamenova, President of the Bulgarian Association of Women Entrepreneurs, it was agreed that BCCI will help develop a website of the Women Entrepreneurs Council in order to improve the correspondence and coordination between the members of the Council.
The Bulgarian side was also represented by the President of the Association of Balkan Chambers /ABC/ Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, eng. Vesela Miryanova – Arteks Engineering and Silvia Nikolova – GNL Plus Agency.
It was agreed that national chambers of commerce in the region will develop rules in order to offer women entrepreneurs preferential conditions for participation in fairs and exhibitions in the Balkan countries. This practice has already been introduced by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
The following meeting of the Association of Balkan Chambers /ABC/ is scheduled for November and will be hosted by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, who is the current President of the Association of Balkan Chambers, had talks with the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Mr. Rifat Hisarciklioglu.
The Association of the Balkan Chambers was established on the initiative of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in September 1994. Its main objective is to assist companies from the member-countries in developing their bilateral and multilateral relations and to provide assistance for the liberalization of trade on the Balkans by putting forward specific proposals to governments. The Association is directed by a President, elected for a one-year period on the rotary principle, and assisted by a Secretariat and Working Parties.
