Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Kosovo visited BCCI
The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry of Kosovo, Mrs. Mimoza Kusari Lila. The Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Mrs. Eljana Naka, Secretary General, Mr. Bernard Nikaj, Senior Political Adviser and Mr. Bujar Maxhumi, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Kosovo in Sofia.
BCCI’s President introduced the guests to the general activity of the Chamber and its membership in various international organizations. Mr. Simeonov expressed his content with the mutual work of the two chambers with regard to the visit of the Chairman of the Arbitration court at BCCI, Mr. Silvy Chernev to Kosovo in May this year to assist the Arbitration court at the Chamber of Commerce in Pristina, Kosovo.
Mrs. Kusari Lila shared that the Republic of Kosovo needs to import foods and agricultural produce from Bulgaria in order to compensate a potential shortage in the country’s market, which is expected as a result of the implementation of reciprocal measures to the country’s trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. In July this year, the government of Kosovo imposed the reciprocal measures towards Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, after the two-year trade embargo imposed on the Republic of Kosovo by these countries.
Mrs. Kusari Lila informed the representatives of the Chamber that a Mutual Investment Protection Agreement is expected to be signed between Kosovo and Bulgaria in the fall. Finally, Mrs. Kusari Lila expressed her readiness to share more information in the following days about an upcoming business delegation from the agricultural sector, which will visit the Republic of Kosovo.
