For the 25th time BCCI conferred its annual awards for economic achievements









For the 25th time, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) conferred its annual awards for economic achievements at an official ceremony, which was held in Sofia Hotel Balkan. Among the official guests of the event were the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Biser Petkov and the Deputy Minister of Economy Aleksandar Manolev.

The awards were presented to companies that excelled in the various categories of BCCI’s annual economic classification “TOP 100 companies leading in the Bulgarian economy”, sectorial organization, regional chamber of commerce and industry, ambassador, commercial counsellor, media and journalist. More than 6500 companies accounting for 83% of the country’s GDP took part in the TOP 100 classification for 2017. “This year we have expanded the digitalisation and presence of BCCI in the social networks so that our goals can reach everyone and we continue our efforts to inform companies as soon as possible about the planned changes in the economic environment - both at national and international level”, said the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov.

The “Media of the Year” award of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry went to bTV News. The prize is awarded for objective presentation of the current economic problems. The news presenter and author of the “Read the label” rubric Bilyana Gavazova accepted the award on behalf of entire news team. “It really is a team award and it is for all the colleagues who cover economic news. Economic news is extremely important as this is what “picks our pockets” every day. So this recognition, this award, means that we have good sensitivity to economic news and really succeed in meeting the people’s expectations and giving them the information they need”, Bilyana Gavazova said.

Ventsislav Genkov from the Business Department of Information agency and newspaper “Monitor” received BCCI’s prize for journalist, for objective covering of the positions of the Chamber on current business topics, with distinct attention to the problems of Bulgarian business and the role of the Chamber in its defense.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva said that “The main priority of the Government is education, but I, as a Foreign Minister, try to improve our relations with other countries with regard to labour migration.” According to the Minister, when there are good economic relations and tourist exchange between the countries, no politician can destroy these relations.

“The results show that Bulgarian companies are competitive and innovative, that is why we expect event better results”, said the Deputy Minister of Economy Aleksandar Manolev. An evidence to his words is the 15% growth of exports in 2018.

Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva presented the Hermes Bronze Statuette and Diploma to the company CHERNOGOR AGRO LTD. in the category for alteration of net sales revenue 2017/2016.

The first prize in the category for maximum value of profit in BGN on 100 BGN equity in 2017 went to company BILDNIX LTD.

In the category maximum value of profit in BGN on 100 BGN sales revenue in 2017, the award was given to company INTERKOM LTD.

In the category “50 companies classified on the alteration of profit 2017/2016” the first place was won by GRADUS-1 LTD.

In the competition for companies that have realised maximum value of sales revenue and profit for 2017 in the national planning regions, awards were given to OLIVA JSC, AFER BULGARIA LTD., AMYLUM BULGARIA EAD, AURUBIS BULGARIA AD, PAPAS-OLIO JSC, and KCM AD. The award to AURUBIS BULGARIA AD in the same category was presented by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy Biser Petkov.

The prize for “Excellent SME in 2018” awarded in partnership between BCCI and Coface Bulgaria went to company DAK-22 EOOD.

The Association of Interior Designers in Bulgaria received the first prize in the category “Branch Organisation”, and Burgas Chamber of Commerce and Industry was awarded in the category “Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry” for contribution to the achievement of BCCI’s goals and objectives.

The Ambassador of China to Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Zhang Haizhou received an award for his contribution to the development of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the People’s Republic of China, and Mrs. Ulrike Straka, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Austria to Bulgaria received a prize for her outstanding contribution to the promotion of the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Austria.

On the occasion of the annual awards, BCCI received a congratulatory address from the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova.
