Representatives of BCCI – Vasil Todorov, Secretary General of the Chamber, Krasimir Dachev, Member of the Board of Directors, and Gabriela Dimitrova, Director International Cooperation took part in a meeting of the members of the National Association “One Belt, One Road” with the management of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bulgaria. BCCI is one of the founders of the Association. The meeting aimed to present the Association’s achievements during the first year of its existence, as well as the planned future events related to the 7th Meeting of the Heads of Government of China and the CEE countries (the “16+1” initiative), which will be held in Sofia in early July.
The meeting was opened by the H.E. ZHANG Haizhou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in Bulgaria, who confirmed China’s interest in the fast-growing region of Central and Eastern Europe. The Ambassador reviewed the results achieved so far under the “16+1” and “One Belt, One Road” initiatives.
Prof. Dr. Zahari Zahariev, Chairman of the National Association “One Belt, One Road”, shared the achievements of the organization, emphasizing the signed agreements in the field of transport, communications, entrepreneurship, culture, etc. which aim to facilitate cooperation with Chinese institutions and organizations.
As part of the event, the Secretary General of BCCI Vasil Todorov held individual meetings with Bulgarian and Chinese businessmen, and with the Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of China Mr. YAO Chaoying.
