Sofia and Oslo with a joint project in support of business

The President of BCCI took part in a conference “Sofia meets Oslo. Oslo meets Sofia”


The conference “Sofia meets Oslo. Oslo meets Sofia” was opened by the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova and H.E. Mrs. Tove Bruvik Westberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway in Bulgaria.

“Sofia Municipality is ready to support any businesses which share our idea about the development of the capital as an innovative and green city”, said the Mayor of Sofia. She expressed her gratitude to the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov for the good partnership and pointed out that the Chamber is one of the largest employers’ organizations, which works in support of business.

 

The event gave the start to the first phase of the project, whose aim is to strengthen and enhance the commercial ties between Bulgaria and Norway. Its main goal is to provide business contacts and opportunities for exchange of knowledge and good practices between companies and institutions.

The project is organized by Sofia Investment Agency, part of Sofia Municipality, in cooperation with the Norwegian state owned entity Innovation Norway”, which provides financial support for companies with an emphasis on innovative businesses.

More than 30 representatives of companies seated in Sofia and Norwegian organizations discussed the business developments in the sphere of green technologies, smart cities and entrepreneurship development. The main directions for cooperation between Bulgarian and Norwegian companies were outlined, with an emphasis on the practical needs of business.
